Classes
Pumpkins
Students picked, cleaned, seasoned, and baked pumpkin seeds for a treat. Then, they planted their own pumpkin patch with the remaining seeds.
A MAIZE-ing Corn
From planting and growing corn in our school garden at Indian Creek Elementary to the joy of popping it, our students relish every step of the process.
Maple Sugaring
Using their school's own Sugar Maple trees, students tapped the trees, collected the sap, boiled it, and then made their very own maple syrup! Students tasted this syrup over freshly made pancakes, which they prepared themselves, of course!
Hydroponics
Students learned about growing inside using water rather than soil outside. We enjoyed our harvest with a vibrant salad!
Chocolate
Students grounded cocoa beans to make fresh chocolate! We made chocolate candies and melted our chocolate to dip fresh fruit in.
Salsa
Our students got learned how salsa was made when they crushed the fresh tomatoes from our garden.
Ice Cream
We learned how essential vanilla beans are when we made our own vanilla ice cream.
Spaghetti Sauce
We crafted a delicious spaghetti sauce using the bountiful harvest of fresh tomatoes from our garden.
Baking Pizzas
We created mouthwatering pizzas using basil freshly grown in our own garden.
Farmer's Market
At Indian Creek Elementary School, students grow and share fresh produce directly with families at a vibrant farm stand, promoting healthy eating and community connection.
